Installation

DaVinci Resolve is a professional video editing software known for its advanced editing, color correction, visual effects, and audio post-production tools.

• Go to the official Blackmagic Design website.

• Navigate to the DaVinci Resolve page and click Download Now.

• Choose the operating system (Windows, Mac, or Linux) and fill out the form.

• After downloading, open the installer file

• Open DaVinci Resolve from applications .

Media page:

The Media Page is the starting point for managing and organizing your media files in DaVinci Resolve. It is designed for importing, previewing, and preparing media for editing.

Key Features:

• Media Storage: Browse and import files from computer or connected drives.

• Media pool :the section below where the edited videos are dragged and organised for editing. The Media Pool is where all our imported media is stored and organized for your project .we can preview clips directly in the Media Pool before adding them to the timeline.

• Metadata: The section seen on the right side of the media page is the metadata. The Metadata panel displays detailed information about selected clips, such as resolution, codec, frame rate, and audio properties.

• Inspector: the Inspector is used to modify the properties of selected. The Inspector offers real-time adjustments that are instantly visible in the timeline. Media page

Edit page

The edit page is the 3rd icon on the task in resolve interface. The Edit Page is the central hub for assembling and refining your video project.

• Timeline :The Timeline is the core workspace in the Edit Page where you assemble and arrange your media clips to create your video.

• Zoom in/out of the timeline to focus on specific sections

• Trims: Trimming lets us adjust the start or end of a clip to refine timing. Used to sync clips or adjust pacing.

• Transitions: smoothly connect two clips with visual effects like Cross Dissolve or Wipes. It is found in the Effects Library and can be dragged onto the timeline.

• Titles: Add text to your project using pre-built or customizable title templates. It Includes basic text, subtitles, and animated options.

• Effects: Enhance your video with visual and audio effects like color grading, blurs, or audio equalization. Drag effects onto clips or apply them to the entire track.

• Inspector: Displays adjustable settings for selected clips or effects. Modify properties like position, scale, rotation. Edit page

Cut page:

The Cut Page is designed for fast, streamlined editing, ideal for quick turnarounds and simple projects.

Key features

The top timeline shows the entire project for quick navigation, while the bottom timeline offers a detailed view for precise edits. No need for constant zooming or scrolling, making it easier to focus on editing.

Fairlight page:

The Fairlight Page is a powerful audio post-production workspace in DaVinci Resolve, designed for professional sound editing, mixing, and mastering.

Key features:

• Edit ,trim, and adjust the audio clips directly on the timeline. Tools for cutting, fading, and audio with video.

• Mixer: A multi track mixer for adjusting volume,pan, and effects on individual tracks.

• Audio Effects: Built-in effects like EQ, compression, reverb, and noise reduction.

• Meters and Scopes: Visual tools for monitoring levels, loudness, and frequencies.

• Noise Reduction and Repair: tools for removing unwanted noise and improving audio clarity. Fairlight page

Delivery page:

The Delivery Page is the final step in DaVinci Resolve where we prepare your project for export. It offers comprehensive options to render the video in various formats.

Key Features:

• Render Queue: Allows you to queue multiple timelines or clips for batch rendering. It easily manage and prioritize export tasks.

• Customizable Output: Helps in choosing file formats.

• Audio Export Options: Render audio in different formats, channels.

• Subtitles and Captions: export videos with embedded subtitles or separate subtitle files.

• Resolution and Frame Rate: Adjust the video size (like 1080p or 4K) and how smooth it plays (frame rate). Delivery page
