FUSION PAGE
Fusion page in daVinci Resolve is basically a node-based compositing environment which can be used to create advanced visual effects, motion graphics, animations etc. using the respective nodes, thereby forming a flowchart-like structure. Nodes are the building blocks in our compositions. There are different types of nodes in daVinci Resolve like-
- Media nodes- used to handle media input and output_MediaIn and MediaOut
- Effect nodes- used to apply effects like highlight, blur etc.
- Transform nodes- used to adjust scaling, rotation, position changes etc.
- Tracker nodes- used to track motion of an object in any footage. Different types of trackers include planar tracker(for flat surfaces), surface tracker(for fluid-like surfaces), camera tracker(for tracking the camera's movement in 3D space) etc. These are also helpful in removing unwanted objects from the scenes.
Work done:
- Removed unwanted portions from the video
- Speeded up some portions to avoid lag
- Added suitable texts and effects like highlight, blur, drone overlay, digital glitch etc. to add on to its visual effect
- Used Olympus(LUTs) to change the video quality

Edited video:
LUTs (Lookup tables) are essentially a set of instructions that remap an image's colours, brightness, contrast etc. to achieve a desired look.
COLOUR PAGE
-
Colour page can be used for colour grading and correction using features like colour wheels(for primaries as well as HDR), curves, RGB mixer etc. to enhance the visual effect of the clips.
-
This page also provides 4 scopes to analyse the colour and brightness levels:
- Waveform shows the brightness level of the entire image
- Parade shows the intensity of RGB channels separately in the form of a waveform
- Histogram shows the intensity distribution of the RGB channels in the scenes
- Vectorscope shows hue and saturation on a circular graph
Colour grading features:
- When a clip is added to a timeline, a correction node is automatically generated. The effects available in the colour page are added to this correction node.
Work done:
- Adjusted colour of the video, making it more visually appealing
Colour theory is the study of how colours work together, how they affect our emotions and perceptions, and how they can be combined to create visually pleasing designs.
Understanding colour theory is highly important and useful for combining colours, to make the scenes more visually appealing.
Thus both fusion and colour pages are focused on enhancing the visual style and mood of the footages.
