ProCalci at Marvel Open Day

Project Overview

An Al-powered calculator that can seamlessly process both written equations and hand-drawn diagrams. The calculator will not only recognize and solve algebraic, trigonometric, and calculus-based problems from handwritten input but will also analyze and compute geometric properties from drawn diagrams.

General outline:

1. Frontend (User Interaction)

The frontend, built using React and TypeScript, serves as the interface for users. Users can input handwritten equations, draw diagrams, and interact with the calculator.

Tailwind CSS ensures a responsive and visually appealing design, while Vite ensures fast development and build processes.

2. Backend (Logic and Processing)

The backend, powered by FastAPI (Python), processes inputs received from the frontend. It utilizes Gemini model to recognize handwritten equations and diagrams, decode them, and extract relevant mathematical or geometric information.

My Experience

The Marvel Open Day at UVCE was an amazing experience! Presenting my AI calculator project gave me a great platform to showcase the potential of AI in solving real-world problems. The event was well-organized, with a lot of engaging interactions from students and faculty. I had the chance to delve into discussions about AI, machine learning, and tech innovations with like-minded individuals, which was incredibly rewarding. Marvel's R&D environment fosters creativity, and it felt like the ultimate opportunity to contribute to ongoing research while learning from others' projects. A heartfelt thanks to Marvel for making this opportunity possible and for fostering such an inspiring and collaborative atmosphere.
