Learn about ICAO, SARPS, QCI, BIS, stakeholders, and their basic laws.
Learning:
Basic full form of the Govt. regulatory bodies related to drones & aviation, along with their basic functions:
- DGCA: Directorate General of Civil Aviation, it is India's civil aviation regulator responsible for safety oversight, certification, and operational standards.
Scope: Within India.
- MoCA: Ministry of Civil Aviation, it 1. : Formulates and implements national aviation policies, manages airport infrastructure, and promotes air transport in India.
Scope: Within India.
- ICAO: International Civil Aviation Organization, it is a UN specialized agency developing global standards and policies for aviation safety, security, and environmental protection.
Scope: Global.
- SARPs: Standards and Recommended Practices, ICAO's internationally recognized technical guidelines to ensure consistent aviation safety and operational efficiency.
Scope: Global.
- QCI: Quality Council of India, it ensures quality standards for aviation and drone certification in India.
Scope: Within India.
- AIP: Aeronautical Information Publication, it is a detailed document providing critical aeronautical data, maps, and updates for flight operations and planning.
Scope: Country-specific (issued by the aviation authority of each country).
- Stakeholders: AAI, DGCA, MoCA are a few stakeholders in the Indian Aviation industry.
